Torque Motors (Tork) will launch its electric bike in the Indian market today. The name of the bike could be Torque T6X. Work on the bike has been going on for the last several years. The company first introduced its concept in 2016. It is believed that with the launch, the company will also start booking it. This will be a very powerful e-bike.
The Torque Kratos EV is based on the proprietary operating system of the motorcycle company. Which is named Torque Intuitive Response Operating System (TIROS). This electric motorcycle is capable of giving power from 150cc to 160cc engine.
The new battery-powered motorcycle has been priced at Rs 1.02 lakh. This is the effective ex-showroom Delhi price of Tork Kratos electric bike inclusive of subsidy. The company has introduced the bike in two versions – Kratos and Kratos R. Along with the launch, the company has also started booking for both the versions. Customers wishing to buy this e-bike can book it by paying just Rs 999 on the company’s official website, where bookings are currently open. These electric bike deliveries are scheduled to happen by April this year.
Battery power and speed
The Tork Kratos electric motorcycle gets an IP67-rated 4 Kwh lithium-ion battery pack with a system voltage of 48V. It has an IDC range of 180 km while the real world range is 120 km. The top speed of this bike is 100 kmph. It gets an axial flux type electric motor with maximum power of 7.5 kW and maximum torque of 28 Nm. The company claims that this bike achieves the initial speed of 0 to 40 kmph in 4 seconds. While the high-spec Kratos R gets a more powerful motor that delivers 9.0 Kw of power and 38 Nm of torque. It has a top speed of 105 kmph as compared to the standard model.
The Tork Kratos electric bike packs an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery pack that comes in an aluminum alloy casing to ensure water damage protection. Kratos will come with a fast charging system that will charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in just one hour. However, the facility of fast charging is given only in the Kratos R motorcycle. It will also get some other additional connectivity features. It has been made available with features like Geofencing, Find My Vehicle feature, Motorwalk Assist, Crash Alert, Vacation Mode, Track Mode Analysis as well as Smart Charge Analysis.
Apart from this, the bike will have the company’s own operating system, named Tork Intuitive Response Operating System (TIROS) (Tork Intuitive Response Operating System). The system will collect and analyze the data for each ride. It will monitor key components like real-time power consumption, power management and range forecasting. Apart from this, the 4.3-inch TFT screen is equipped with features like anti-theft and app and cloud connectivity.
