Today is the 20th day of the Russia-Ukraine war. Despite ongoing peace talks with Ukraine, Russia continues to bomb civilian areas in Ukrainian cities. On Monday, 20 civilians were killed and 35 injured in a ballistic missile attack in the Russian-backed rebel-held city of Donetsk. According to the New York Times report, Russia has blamed the attack on the Ukrainian military. However, he could not produce any proof of this.
However, Ukraine has denied this attack and said that it will be the missile of Russia, which has missed the target. Now Russia is blaming Ukraine for this.
On the other hand, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has said that it will pronounce its verdict on the petition filed by Ukraine against Russia on March 16 i.e. on Wednesday. Ukraine, in a hearing held on March 7, had asked the court to order Russia to stop military activities. Ukraine said that Russia had attacked the base of the UN Genocide Treaty, misinterpreting it. Russia had boycotted the proceedings opposing this hearing in the ICJ.
Russia-Ukraine peace talks will continue today The ongoing peace talks
Between Russia and Ukraine remained incomplete even on Monday. Both sides failed to reach an agreement to end the fighting. Ukrainian delegation member Mikhailo Podolik said the meeting had been “technically paused” and would continue on Tuesday.
